The Daily: Red Wings’ Pius Suter Looking Sharp at World Championships

Detroit Red Wings 174-pound second line center Pius Suter is playing a larger role for unbeaten Switzerland at the World Championships. He registered a goal and an assist to help the Swiss beat Canada, 6-3. It was Canada’s first loss of the tournament.

Pius Suter is tied for sixth among tournament scorers with seven points (two goals, five assists) in five games.  He is also +4. Switzerland has outscored opponents 25-10 in the tournament.

Switzerland (5-0) leads its pool, while Canada (4-1) fell into second. The Swiss play France today.

Meanwhile, Red Wings forward Jakub Vrana scored his first goal of the tournament for Czechia in a 4-1 against Norway.  His power play tally turned out to be the official game-winner.
